D R Mills & Associates is an independent chartered building surveying practice situated in the heart of the world heritage city of Bath. The company was established in 1995 by David Mills FRICS who was made a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1993, and has worked in the City since 1967 gaining considerable local knowledge.
We are a small and friendly firm offering a wide range of services and experience on traditionally constructed properties with a particular focus on the individual needs of our clients. We serve a diverse range of clients, both domestic and commercial, from private individuals through to large landlords and national builders.
Based in Bath, we have extensive experience of working within the World Heritage City and its specific conservation requirements. Measured Surveys
We carry out measured surveys and create plans demonstrating an accurate record of dimensions and the layout of land or an existing building.
Building Surveys
We survey and produce reports on residential, office, retail, and commercial properties for clients purchasing or leasing on a property. We also undertake specific defect inspections and reports.
Alterations and Extensions
We produce design schemes, obtain planning consent, listed building consent and building regulation approval as required.
Contract Administration and Site Supervision
We produce specification of works, carry out the tender process and carry out contract administration and site supervision of works.
Schedules of Dilapidations
We give advice to landlord or tenant on schedules of dilapidations and carry out associated works as required.
Lease Plans
We create Land Registry compliant drawings to accompany lease documents outlining the demise of the property.
Insurance Claims
We give advice on insurance claims for damage caused to properties and the associated remedial works.
Reinstatement Valuation Calculations
We provide Reinstatement Valuation Calculations in which we calculate an accurate cost for the complete rebuild of a property for insurance purposes.
Health and Safety
We produce design risk reviews, pre-construction phase health and safety plans and carry out the roles of principle designer/designer under CDM regulations 2015.
